About Al Gee
Al Gee is a man whose life has been undeniably marked by the power, presence, and purpose of God. A retired pastor, teacher, and spiritual leader, Al has spent over four decades walking in deep obedience to the call of God, both in ministry and in everyday life. His journey began not in a pulpit, but in the crucible of childhood adversity, where he experienced a miraculous healing from a serious disease. That divine encounter became a spark that ignited a lifelong pursuit of the supernatural power of God in the lives of His people.
Born in Miami, Florida, Al was the third of seven children born to Allious and Mable Gee, a family grounded in unwavering faith and spiritual discipline. From an early age, Al was taught to believe God for the impossible, and he witnessed his family experience tangible, miraculous moves of God. These moments shaped his understanding of faith not as a concept, but as a way of life.
Throughout his youth, Al was groomed for leadership, mentored by godly parents, and guided by a strong conviction that his life was destined for purpose. Faith was not simply taught, it was lived. That daily exposure to the reality of God’s power laid the foundation for his future ministry.
Before entering full-time ministry, Al developed a strong academic and professional foundation. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Long Island University in New York, where he later served as the Director of the Higher Education Opportunity Program, helping disadvantaged students access higher education. His early career also included work as a Management Specialist at the Atomic Energy Commission, where his administrative skills and leadership abilities flourished.
While pursuing graduate studies in Public Administration at St. John’s University, Al experienced a spiritual turning point. During that season, he recognized and accepted his calling into full-time Gospel ministry. It was a moment of complete surrender to God’s will for his life.
Over the course of more than 45 years, Al Gee served faithfully in various ministry roles that reflected his versatility, conviction, and global vision. His ministry extended far beyond the walls of the church. His roles included:
- Street Evangelist, preaching the Gospel in urban communities
- Church Planter, establishing faith communities from the ground up
- Bible Teacher, unlocking biblical truths with clarity and depth
- Radio Broadcaster, using media to reach thousands with the Word of God
- Intercessory Prayer Leader, guiding movements of prayer and spiritual breakthrough
- Senior Pastor, leading congregations with compassion and integrity
- Bishop (Consecrated in 1996), mentoring leaders and overseeing churches nationally and internationally
At the core of his ministry was a consistent mission: to empower believers and equip churches with biblical strategies and spiritual principles that bring about transformation and Kingdom impact. Al’s teaching always emphasized the reality of God’s power, the urgency of spiritual maturity, and the authority every believer carries through Christ.
Though retired from formal ministry, Al remains active as a spiritual mentor, advisor, and intercessor. He continues to pour into the next generation of leaders and encourages the Body of Christ to live in bold, uncompromising faith.
Al and his wife, Debby, are the proud parents of three children: Yahtta, Christian, and Brittney. Together, they have built a legacy of faith, family, and Kingdom service. They currently reside in Durham, North Carolina, where their lives remain a testimony to God’s goodness and faithfulness.
